Hello! As I write this note in late February, there is a rumor that must be addressed.
SPRING WILL COME! The daffodils and tulips will bloom once more. The birds will be chirping in the trees. All the lost newspapers and other detritus will be found as the snow banks melt.
What does all of this mean to the Chicago Northwest Suburban CPCU Society Chapter? Throughout the spring, a full schedule of monthly meetings will be planned and happen. (By the way, the next meeting tackles the subject of ethics and we will have guests - - NSIP, Northwest Suburban Insurance Professionals.) As always, we will learn and discuss current topics in the Insurance industry, engaging with experts in these areas.
Best of all: we will get to interact with one another MORE at our meetings! It is true. Think of the time saved in NOT having to remove hats, scarves, gloves and coats before we can talk to each other. It gives us more time to see old friends and make some new ones.
Spring is also the time of year for our annual scholarship. The scholarship is named for Don Hurzeler, a former Chapter member who became President of the National CPCU Society. How the scholarship works is simple. If you have a college bound high school senior or a student currently in college, the information and application forms are found on this very website. This is a benefit provided to our Chapter Members and we urge all who qualify to participate. It is no joke, we are not fooling, when we say the deadline is a firm April 1st.
Looking forward to seeing all of you at our Chapter Meetings this spring . . . and don't be afraid to talk to an officer or board member about how you can be more involved in the Chapter!!!! We need you!
Val Pristera, CPCU, ARM, AIS - Chapter President
