Hello! Welcome to our Chapter Website! 2017 is well underway with two Chapter meetings held already.
2017 is the year to get involved to make your Chapter everything you want it to be! I love the participation I’ve seen so far. We’ve already had volunteers help us with check-ins at the door, volunteer to help find speakers and fill the remaining spots on our Scholarship committee.
Additionally, two 2016 New Designees have joined our Board of Directors, one to work on our website and the other to work with our New Designees for 2017.
Now, that doesn’t mean there aren’t other additional opportunities! Here are some items where we need your help:
Technical Support – we desperately need someone to make sure our multi-media items are connected and working properly at the start of our Chapter meetings.Being at a different venue every month, the connections are not always the same and we could use a tech-savvy person.
Photographer/Videographer – we would like someone to take pictures at our meetings so we can put photos of our meetings and events on our website. We could use someone with video and/or editing skills for videotaping events such as our March Ethics challenge.
Surveys – send out a Survey Monkey to those that attended a chapter meeting to get feedback on the speaker, venue and food, and also to solicit any suggestions.Consolidate the results to be shared with the Officers and Board Members.
Chapter Meetings – work with Board members to plan a monthly meeting – picking a venue, choosing the menu and selecting a speaker.
None of those tasks require a commitment to be on the Board. Please ask me or any Board member how you can get involved. We have a great group on our Board this year, and I’m already enjoying my tenure as your Chapter President!
Since March is the Society’s Ethics Awareness Month, our meeting will be a participative Ethics role playing event on Tuesday March 21st at Biaggi’s in Deer Park (For those of you who asked, we are holding this meeting in Lake County!) We will record the meeting and submit it to the CPCU Society to compete for special recognition as having the best Ethics event. CPCU – CE credit will be given and the Chapter will file the credit on your behalf. It will also be our first FREE meeting of the year.
The free meeting brings up an important point: Annual dues were due by 1/31/17. If you have not yet paid, please do so as soon as possible. Paid members of our Chapter will be entitled to four free meetings throughout the year, including March’s meeting. In addition, in order to apply for our scholarship or submit a family member or relative for consideration, the member must be paid and in good standing. More importantly, being a member allows you to participate in Society webinars; to take on-line courses offered by the Society; get discounts on Society materials; join an Interest Group plus many other benefits. So be sure to take care of your dues NOW! See you at the March Chapter Meeting!
