To continue and complete the process that began with the changing of our chapter's fiscal year from July 1 to June 30 to January 1 to December 31, the Chapter Officers and Board of Directors now present Revised Bylaws for review and approval by active members of the Chapter.

The changes will be effective immediately once the resolution is adopted.  Should any portion of the old bylaws not be addressed in the Revised Bylaws, they will be continued and the officers of the Chapter are permitted to take any action deemed necessary to make revisions to assure conformance.

A long-standing tradition of the Chicago Suburban Northwest Chapter of the CPCU Society has been to participate in the “Thanksgiving Program” of the Palatine Township “Needy Family Fund.”

Last November, the Chapter donated four (4) baskets, each containing non-perishable food items and a grocery gift card that allowed the recipient family to buy a turkey and fresh produce.

Palatine Township was happy to report that for every family referred to them, a basket and gift card was able to be provided, some 625 baskets in total.

At the October Chapter Meeting, Janis Edelheit, Day Tag Coordinator at Clearbrook, spoke to the members in attendance about some of the work they do with their autistic clients.  She demonstrated “Smart Boards” that assist the clients to communicate.

Joel Davis, one of our members and an employee of QBE, reached out to Janis and together they prepared a request to the QBE Foundation to fund the purchase of more “Smart Boards.”  Joel felt it would be a good fit.
